Father’s Day is this Sunday. This year, we will happily be unpacking and moving into our new house. If I were having a Father’s Day celebration, here are a few things that might grace my table:
Man Log – Most definitely, a special occasion treat. But one that all of the men in my life cannot say no to. Sausage and cheese put to bed in a bacon blanket. I suggest a glass of red wine to go with it to counteract your cholesterol levels.
The Best Hamburger Ever – A hamburger made with the best ingredients really does make this “the best hamburger ever”. You don’t even have to be a man to love this creation.
Lowcountry Boil – The name might be a little weird, but it is the perfect meal to make for a Father’s Day party. A big ol’ pot of shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, and lots of Old Bay. Dump it out on a newspaper covered table and serve with ice cold beer. And a lot of napkins.
Marinated Mozzarella – I know what you are thinking, marinated mozzarella is not really a man food. You are right, but I do not know a man that can walk by a dish of these little garlicky cheese balls and resist. I make these all the time and keep them in the fridge. They are good straight up, but also delicious on a sandwich, in a salad, or melted in a pasta dish.
Barbecue Chicken Sandwich – This sandwich is so easy. Shredded rotisserie chicken (or leftover grilled, whatever you have around) tossed in barbecue sauce, and a bun that has been toasted with garlic butter on each side. This recipe is really good for a crowd too.
Peanut Butter Pie – My husband’s favorite dessert ever. Father’s Day would not be complete without this creamy peanut butter pie.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful dads out there.

I am Bree. I love to cook. Even more than I love to take pictures.

My husband would go crazy over all of these! Thanks for the great ideas!
You are welcome Caroline.
From the bacon to the burger to the peanut butter pie, you definitely found my hubby’s favorites! Maybe add a pizza and you’ve got him exactly!
I totally forgot pizza! What was I thinking?
I think I might try the lowcountry boil on Sunday. Thanks for the great recipes!
Hope that you did, it is a really fun party.
I am going to attempt the man log for my daughter’s birthday party on father’s day. How many does it serve? Should I make two?
Sorry Shelby, I am just seeing this, but a little goes a long way.
I ended up making two and had 16 slices total. Enough for each adult to have one slice. They LOVED it. Should have made more.
Thanks for the wonderful idea!
I am glad that man log was such a hit.
My husband would definitely give me a warm hug and kiss when I prepared those food this Father’s day .
Hugs and kisses are good!
My husband, the dessert connoisseur, has declared that the Baked Bree Peanut Butter Pie is so good it makes him want to cry. It’s now his favorite dessert; that is, until you post a new dessert recipe! Thanks Bree!
It is pretty good pie. I made one for Father’s day and had forgotten how good it is. Glad that your husband liked it.
