There is something so decadent about vanilla beans. Seeing gorgeous black flecks in desserts lets me know before I even take a bite that it is going to be rich and decadent. Today I am over at The Creative Mama sharing with you How to Make Vanilla Sugar. It could not be any easier, and I guarantee you that the recipient of this little gift will be feeling loved all day long.

I am Bree. I love to cook. Even more than I love to take pictures.

That sugar sounds like the perfect thing for so many delicious treats. I’d give anything to have a little supply of this.

I’ll testify for this one! Vanilla Sugar = Awesome.
…by the way. I have been reading your blog for the past few months, and have to admit that if your pictures were not so great, I wouldn’t still be here. Your recipes are just as good (I just made that chocolate cake with coffee in it recently, so good!) but I never would have been grabbed. Your photography did it to me, so I checked out the camera you are using, then proceeded to have a stroke. That’s one for the Amazon wish list! Anyhow, great blog overall, excellent photography.
Thanks?
I’m so happy to have a recipe for this instead of having to buy it in the store! I love Vanilla!!! It is my favorite flavor for so many things. Have a great day-

Welcome Claire! Thank you.
what an awful idea for a gift not ony did u spend about 33 cents but put a couple minutes of ur time into it. when i bake my loved ones things i exlist spend an hour or two making them. but a good idea for coffe thanks
I always thought that it was the thought that counts. Getting a homemade gift is a thoughtful gesture regardless of the cost or the time put into it.
Andrew, I was lucky enough to get this as a gift. I have to say it was a big hit at my house. It is the perfect addition to coffee or espresso drinks. I had a guest in town and it fancied up her latte’ and brought a big smile. This is also fab sprinkled on waffles, pancakes, and fruit. Sometimes it really is the thought that counts. (and the adorable Italian canning jar it came in doesn’t hurt either.)
thanks for the love Cornelius.
