This Loaded Baked Potato Dip is perfect for a Superbowl Party. Loaded Baked Potato Dip takes mere minutes to make, and can be made a day ahead of time.
While I am not particularly interested if the Steelers beat the Packers, there is something that I am interested in on Superbowl Sunday. The food. I love Superbowl food. Dips, appetizers, finger foods, cheese, chili, and icy cold beers. It is the one day of the year when you are supposed to eat garbage and it is perfectly acceptable, if not encouraged. It is the one time of the year that I do not even bother to put together a well-rounded meal that includes all the food groups and various colors.
This Loaded Baked Potato Dip includes all the Superbowl party food groups: cheese, bacon, sour cream, and potato chips. I served mine with chips, but next time, I would use Alexia’s, Waffle Fries. I think that you need something a little more substantial to use for a dip delivery system. The chips broke in the dip. No one likes to fish the other half of their chip out of the dip bowl. It would also be divine served inside a baked potato, hence the name.
Loaded Baked Potato Dip Ingredients //
- 1/4 pound thick-cut bacon (I used pepper bacon)
- 1 (16-ounce) container of sour cream
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (I used a cheese blend and it was still cheesy and delish)
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh chives
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- waffle fries or potato chips
How to Make – The Steps
Step 1: Put everything in the bowl. (I save a little bacon and chives to garnish with.)
Step 2: Mix. We are really cooking now. Pour it into your container and let chill for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours.
Step 3: Garnish with the reserved bacon and chives. Serve with some chips or waffle fries.
Grab an icy cold beverage and dip away. Who are we rooting for? The Steelers or the Packers?
Why is this the Best Loaded Baked Potato Dip
A Superbowl party or hosting a big crowd at your house means you need to take out all the munchies and deliver your A game. It is important that whatever you serve as a snack or prior to the dinner needs to be delicious and lip smacking but yet something simple and easy. This Loaded Baked Potato Dip ticks all those boxes. This is a great side dip which can be used alongside chips, crackers and even waffle fries. It is packed with flavorful ingredients and is super easy to make.
How to Store
When making this dip in bulk there is bound to be leftovers. You can store it in the fridge for up to a week in an airtight container.
Remove it from the fridge and keep it at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving. I sometimes heat it up in the microwave or on the stovetop. Just make sure to heat it slowly and to avoid burning it.
Tips and Tricks
Not a fan of cheddar cheese? No worries! The beauty of this dip is that you can add your own twists and garnishes to make it exactly what your taste buds desire 🙂 If I run out of cheddar cheese, I usually swap for Pepper Jack Cheese or Cantal Cheese (often considered the cousin of Cheddar Cheese) and it still turns out delicious.
Garnishes: You can garnish this with whatever you like. I garnish with leftover bacon and chives but you can add as many toppings. Some good ones could be olives, Jalapeno Peppers, Green Onions or even diced Tomatoes.
