pecan pie bar recipe

I got home a few hours ago from the most fun, amazing, inspiring conference ever. I was honored to be a speaker at Mixed and seriously, I can’t wait for next year. I will write more about my experience later, I need to spend some QT with my little people, but it was the best weekend ever. I am so looking forward to what is to come and what new things are on the horizon for Baked Bree.

Today I am over at LoveFeastTable for their 3rd annual Cookie Exchange. I am sharing my recipe for Pecan Pie Bars. Such a delicious dessert, and easier to make than a pie.

Pecan pie is a favorite…and bars seem so much easier! Yum.
I love the Pewter Crosshatch journal cover. I need to vow to throw more dinner parties!

  2. These look amazing! I love pecan pie and even more with the ease of a bar!

I’m drooling now! Those Pecan Pie Bars look soooooo yummy. Too bad my kids have nut allergies or I’d be whipping up a batch tonight. The journal is a great idea….I’m constantly writing down little tips and tidbits in random places then lose them. The Pewter Crosshatch has my vote!

  4. Peacan pie has never really been a part of my family’s holiday gatherings, but I DO love pecan. Maybe I should make a new tradition…

  5. Funny thing, I like bars like these better than the pie too. But…. it needs some CHOCOOOLAAATEEEE. Lol. I’m a fiend. I like to sprinkle in some chocolate chunks. :)

I really enjoyed hearing you speak this past weekend! Can’t wait to hear about the trip from your perspective! Buying an IKEA island is top on my list, great to “roll the shot around” to get the perfect light!

HELP!! Where is the actual recipe?? Your site is new to me, but SOOO MANY things sound DEVINE and right up my alley! I was able to pull up several of your other recipes (which I will try!!), but this one comes up blank no matter what I do. Any suggestions? PLEASE!!

  7. I love anything pecan pie. The fact that these are bite sized is a bonus. :-)

  8. Jeanette says:

What can I use as a substitute for the corn syrup?

Pecan pie is made with corn syrup, I don’t think that I would sub it out. Rice barley syrup I think you can sub with?

  9. […] I realize I’m going a little heavy on the recipe category lately, which is ironic since I’m a self-professed non-cook, but there’s a good reason. I know a fabulous recipe when I taste one and ’tis the season for baking, cooking, feasting and sharing the joy of a tasteful palette. So in the spirit of wanting you to prepare for holiday baking (and be the envy of all at your annual cookie swap), I would not want you to miss out on this Pecan Pie Bar recipe which will surely be an instant favorite. This recipe is care of my friend’s mom, Julie, who is otherwise known as the “Queen of Dessert Bars.” You name a bar – she makes it and brings it to all happy events – seven-layer, congo bars, lemon, chocolate chip, the list goes on. They are always delicious, but this pecan one takes the cake. She says her source was the inside of a Land O’ Lakes butter recipe she took down 25 years ago, and I could not find anything quite like it online so it is a best kept secret. That I’m sharing with you. Because Julie is awesome, and generous, and she gave me permission. Thanks Julie. Hope you all enjoy! And if you do make this recipe, please stop by again and leave a comment. Would love to hear your thoughts. Happy Baking! P.s. Photo credit goes to Baked Bree.
