Peppermint Chocolate Drop Cookies with white chocolate centers and a scattering of crushed peppermint. Merry Christmas in cookie form.
I am ready to have a full on holiday bake-a-thon. Picture me, a ridiculous quantity of butter, sugar, chocolate, and sprinkles, Outlander Book 7 on my speaker (Whispersync is the best thing that has ever happened to me), and my double ovens. It’s going to be a good time. I need some quality time in the kitchen to finally bake all of the recipes that I have pinned, dog-eared in magazines, saw on the Food Network, or scribbled on a piece of paper.
Holiday baking is probably my favorite kind of baking. It’s relaxing and I get so much enjoyment making things for other people. I make a lot of things that I only make once a year and every year it makes me so happy. I put together baskets of treats for my neighbors and other special people in our lives. My kitchen and dining area will be full of baked goods waiting to go to good homes. I love the baking, the packaging, and the time at home being in the kitchen with my family. The kids help me pick out new things to make and help wrap and deliver. I don’t do a lot of repeats, I try to change it up each year (there are a few things that have to be included) and these Peppermint Chocolate Drop Cookies that I made for Dixie Crystals will definitely be making an appearance this year.
These cookies have a lot going for them. One, they are gorgeous. The contrast of the rich brown cookie, with the white chocolate center and the red crushed candies. Absolutely beautiful. Two, the cookie has a nice crunch on the outside from being rolled in sugar and is soft in the center. Three, chocolate.
These cookies did not last very long at my house. I have a feeling that Santa is going to be happy to see these on his cookie plate when he visits your house.
