Apple Pound Cake with Rum Glaze

apple pound cake with rum glaze recipe

I hope that all of you had the Happiest of Thanksgivings. I spent the week getting ready for my favorite holiday with my mom and grandmother in New Jersey. We had so much fun being in the kitchen together and cooking. We laughed, told stories, and it made me really happy to be home for Thanksgiving for the first time in over 10 years. My brother recently got engaged, we are having an engagement party for him and his fiance and it is so nice to everyone together for the first time in many, many years.

I’m off to get in as much QT as I can. In the meantime, I wanted to share this recipe with you that I made for Dixie Crystals. Apple Pound Cake with Rum Glaze is moist, tender, and the rum glaze, takes this simple cake to another place.

Happy Friday! (Speaking of Friday, do you subscribe to my newsletter? Every Friday I send some fun, inspiration, and happy thoughts straight into your inbox. I love putting these emails together every week. It’s short and sweet and you can unsubscribe at any time. Join in the fun!)

It is really good. Just a little kick, not overpowering.

I probably fall in love with cakes more often than the average person. But this cake…it’s love for REAL.

Hi Bree, I just made this cake, (no rum, so no glaze). It is delicious and the whole house smells of buttery goodness! Next time I make it I will be sure to have some rum on hand to make the glaze. I baked it to have for breakfast but I don’t know if I can wait ’till then for another piece.

Thanks for all you do for us, your readers!

I am so glad that you liked it. You could also use a little rum extract if you had that.

I was thinking about you on Thanksgiving! I’m sure lots of families across the US were so happy to have your cookbook and recipes, and your Instagram picture of polishing silverware made me smile. 🙂 This apple pound cake looks like the perfect way to start the morning — and entire weekend — after!
