Chocolate French Toast Cookies are a moist cookie rolled in cinnamon sugar and filled with melted chocolate and perfect for a snow day
It is hard for me to believe that we are near the end of October. This fall has been flying by. I’ve been traveling a ton, and I am so happy to be home for a bit to get my house cozy and ready for winter. I’m one of those people that loves winter. I have so many hats it isn’t even funny. Can I wear a scarf? Done. Boots? Even better. A snow day? Break out the board games and let the butter come to room temperature, we are going to bake something.
One of the best ways to entertain three cooped up children on snow day #4 is to bake together. Does the kitchen get a little messier? Sure. Is it worth it? Absolutely. I love teaching my kids how to bake and cook. We have created so many happy memories together in the kitchen. These Chocolate French Toast Cookies are a great thing to bake on a snow day. There are lots of jobs for little hands. Measuring, mixing, rolling, sugaring, filling, and of course – eating.
These were a surprise hit at my house. I made them in the morning and they were gone by the afternoon. Every time someone walked through the kitchen, they grabbed one off of the plate. They have a subtle maple flavor that goes beautifully with the chocolate and are rolled in cinnamon sugar. These would be great to make into spider cookies for Halloween. Maybe add pretzel sticks or licorice laces for the legs?
