I have a confession. I don’t like Halloween. There, I said it. Have you noticed that there are very few Halloween recipes here? I do pin a ton of Halloween recipes and ideas, but I don’t seem to make a lot. Thanksgiving seems to get all of my energy.
I consider myself to be a creative person. But when it comes to costumes and things that are spooky, I’ve got nothing.
But that doesn’t mean that my kids don’t ask me to make fun Halloween treats. Or that I don’t need to bring any to class parties or the snack table at the weekend’s football game. And these Devils’ Food Tie-Dyed Cupcakes are super fun, super easy, and I bought everything at Michaels to make them. It took me about 2 extra minutes to make something festive and my children LOVED how these looked (and tasted, I adore these two recipes – the best chocolate cupcake and buttercream).
I stood a disposable piping bag up in a tall glass and made alternating lines with glitter decorating gel up the sides of the bag. Filled it with buttercream and that was it.
And then I wrapped them up and took them to the bake sale. I used a clear plastic cocktail cup and a clear plastic bag tied with a ribbon. We got ohhhs and ahhhs when we dropped them off.
