Happy Friday: Volume 7

Hello and Happy Black Friday!

I’m writing this to you on Wednesday while I should be packing for our trip to Ireland this evening. Instead, I am listening to Ed Sheeran to get in the mood. AND I made the mistake of searching through November pictures for the last 10+ years and wondering where my babies went? Want to not be productive? Take a stroll down memory lane. In fairness, I was looking for some pictures to go along with this post. I shot a lot this week, but all for things that are coming and I can’t show you yet.

Because we are leaving tonight, I made a mini-Thanksgiving dinner last night. I needed the smell in the house and I really love making Thanksgiving dinner. It was so good. You know what is the new MVP of Thanksgiving? My Instant Pot. You guys, I will never make mashed potatoes without it ever again. Or my sweet potato casserole. I loved that there was no mess. No splattered carb water on my stove and I could make the potatoes straight in the pot. I use my Instant Pot all the time and if you don’t have one, I’d grab one during the sales today or on Cyber Monday.

I need to get this show on the road, so I apologize for the abridged Happy Friday today. If I haven’t told you lately, I just want you to know how thankful I am for you. Thank you for being part of my little community on the Internet.

Uh, the blazer. And her mary janes and sweet little dress. That dress has my grandmother’s name all over it. It looks like a Nonnie special. This was Thanksgiving 2007. Pre-Clay.

So many delights in one picture. Thanksgiving-ish 2009. Baby Cway.

This in DC, 2013ish, and I have no recollection whatsoever of doing this with the kids. They appear to be having a good time.

The lady that supplies my children with cute dresses and corduroy blazers. Also, how cute is my Nonnie? Guys, you won’t believe that she was staring down her 9th decade in this picture.

Thanksgiving 2016. I can’t believe how much they have grown in the last two years. It’s astounding and I didn’t really notice it until this picture. We went to New Jersey to have Thanksgiving with my family and then stopped in New York City to see my sister and have lunch at her restaurant. I remember that day because we saw Bobby Flay and I was trying to say hi, but my mouth stopped working. Only more embarrassing was the time that I literally ran into Bradley Whitford in the Salt Lake City airport and forgot how to function like a normal human being. I muttered something about being a Lemon Lyman and it was not my finest moment.

Last November. They look so sweet and innocent in this picture, but they were so bad that day.

I have never related to something more than I do to this.

Last Thanksgiving on the way to Edinburgh. And me catching this sweet moment that was ACTUALLY happening in real life.

Thank you for being kind walking through that little memory stroll with me.

One, these look delicious, but two, how gorg is this picture?

A gentle reminder. 99% of the time you just add an -s.

Who knew that you could do this with a pipe cleaner?

I’m always working on this. I’m a leftie and have pretty good handwriting, but my hand always smears my ink.

By the time you read this, I’ll have already hit two. It’s my favorite time of year in Europe!

How to set a travel budget and stick to it.

I had one of these a few years ago and it was incredible.

A good gift and a delicious holiday cocktail? I’m in.

Moms of teenage boys. So many true things on this list. I love having teenagers.

“I stopped drinking for one year and this is what happened.”

This makes me want more shelf space. I need to remember this for next year.

I know that we switched overnight from pumpkin to peppermint, but I want to make this.

If I didn’t do this, I wouldn’t have any furniture in my house. When you move as much as we do, you love Craigslist finds and paint.

This might make me eat bacon again.

My grandmother had something like this for ever and ever. I think that my mom has it? It has lasted for 40+ years.

For your brand-spankin’ new Instant Pot.

This time of year is really important for bloggers. Here are some great tips.

I’m really focusing on growing my Pinterest account. Want to help me out? If you could pin a few of these images to your boards, I’d be incredibly grateful.

A delicious and impressive holiday appetizer.

A delight on your hot chocolate or holiday chocolate desserts.

Or a great way to get your cupcakes to your holiday party or bake sale in one piece.
