My kids get home from school much later than we are used to. It is great for our mornings since this girl is not a morning person. But, it makes afternoons a little hairy. The kids get home, super hungry, and we need to get in the car and get to after school activities. To mitigate the meltdowns that are known to occur when hungry/tired/grumpy children get off the bus, I like to have an after school snack waiting for them. I know what you might be thinking, that’s a lot of effort. I promise, it’s not, and it is well worth the peace in the afternoon.
Jif sent me their hazelnut spreads to try and it seemed like a perfect time to take them for a spin. Pretzels and hazelnut spread are one of my favorite snacks. I love salty and sweet together.
They also sent me this adorable flower tray and I filled it with grapes, apple slices, strawberries, graham crackers, and pretzels.
The overwhelming favorite – strawberries dipped in the salted caramel spread. So. So. Good. (I also made cookies with the salted caramel spread, ah-mazing.)
