March 2018 Goals

March 2018 Goals – Goal Setting Using Lara Casey Powersheets – Setting and working towards goals for March and checking in on February’s goals.

Hello March!

February went by so fast. It was a good month and I got a lot done. It was a slow month work-wise, so it gave me time to get some long-term projects done and get the kids used to homeschooling.

Homeschooling is going well. I don’t have to teach, I have to supervise which is probably the only way this would work for us. I bow down to homeschool moms who do it all. It’s a lot of work and so such a time commitment. The kids’ grades are really good and the work is challenging but not overwhelming. I was concerned that this was not going to be a good idea, and no one is more surprised than me that it is going so well.march 2018 goals

William broke some fingers on a snowboarding trip and we have spent a lot of time in the clinic and hospital. I feel like February was the month of appointments. We had so many. He ended up missing the end of basketball and the beginning of lacrosse. Ava starts soccer tonight and Clay in the next week or two. I am happy to have them back outside and being active. It has been so cold and miserable that we have not spent any time outside.

I went to Monaco and Cannes with a good friend this weekend. (That’s why this is a few days late, I got home last night and didn’t do any of the work that I intended to do.) I joke that I could live my best life in France and every time I go, I am reminded how. The French really know how to live.

We have good friends coming this week and we are so excited to see some friendly faces and spend time with them. Last time we saw them, it was just the two of them, and now they are bringing their son. We cannot wait to meet the little guy. We are spending a few days here, then we are all headed to Paris. Wes and the kids have never been, so I am excited to show them one of my favorite cities in the world.march 2018 goals

A huge goal to cross off my list is that I am finally done with the rebrand of my photography business. I worked really hard and am so happy with how it turned out. I am not able to shoot professionally in Germany (it has to do with living on post, my SOFA status, and too much paperwork for not enough time), so I am using the time to build my portfolio with new images and get everything squared away for when we leave. 15 months go by quickly. I am adding family films to my offerings and using the time to get better and learn more.

I learned from the survey that so many of you graciously took the time to fill out that you really don’t want to see any photography posts here, so I am going to be adding them over there. I also write a Monday Coffee Date post (similar to my Friday newsletter, but shorter) and will be adding more posts in the photography education realm. I also am adding a lot of my travel photography there as well. I take so many pictures when I am traveling, it is nice to have a place to share them.

Launch website and post weekly – I’ve been working on this one for so long, I can’t wait to be done. DONE. And I’ve been posting weekly.

Post 4 times on Baked Bree – Traveling to Rome with Kids. Instant Pot Carrot Curry Soup. Steamed Hot Chocolate. Doughnut Sandwich Cookies.

Make 4 films and edit what I have shot in January. – Almost. I made 3 and edited January. Treasure Hunters. (Clay’s video book report.) Snowy weekend. How Sheep Give Hugs. Typical January Weekend.

Drink more water. I need to make an effort on this one. I stink at drinking water.

Move more. Now that it is getting warmer I see more time outside walking. I did climb 24 flights of steps in Monaco.

Continue with the Contentment Challenge. I had a few minor slip-ups, but overall I did a good job in January and February. I’m trying to not online shop when I am tired and bored. I’ve noticed those are the triggers.

Go on a one day trip adventure – We went on a fun day trip and explored more of downtown Stuttgart.

5 more countries – (Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Morocco, Slovenia, Spain) – I booked trip to Slovenia for June. Visited Monaco. Planning a December trip to Morocco and Spain.

Make 4 films.

Learn how to better use Convertkit. My newsletter service is my #1 business expense and I know that I barely scratch the surface of what it can do. If you know of a good class/resource please send it my way.

Update resource pages. I haven’t done this in a long time and they need an update badly.
