Hello! I’m writing this to you from my balcony in Amalfi, Italy. (I know, life is tough, but somebody has to do it.) We are having a wonderful time and to say that it is beautiful here is an understatement. We left Cape Cod almost three weeks ago. We flew to Germany, stayed one night to drop our bags, and went to Rome. We explored Rome for a few days, then hopped on a Greek Isles cruise. I will write more about our cruise experience later because it was incredible. We got off the boat and are in our rented apartment for another week before we head back to Germany.
As much as we love being away, we are starting to miss some of the structure of life at home. We have been living out of a suitcase since May 21st, so it’s been awhile since we unpacked our bags and felt settled. One thing that I really miss is cooking and baking. I’m so excited for our house to be ready and our things to be delivered so that I can get back into the kitchen. I have been saving and tagging recipes that I want to make for months.
In the meantime, I am sharing a cake I made with you earlier this spring. This cake is so easy, you can make the cake in the pan that you bake it in if you like. I love this chocolate cake recipe, I make it all the time, and it always works and comes out moist and delicious. Then to cover it in a fluffy peanut butter frosting and Reese Pieces and mini peanut butter cups? Done.
