Things I Bought That Made Life Better in 2017 – There are things that we can buy that make life better, easier, or helpful. Here’s my list for 2017.
I know that life isn’t supposed to be about things, but there are things that we can buy that make life better. This year I spent a lot of time behind a computer screen and a lot of time traveling, these things made my life significantly happier and easier. We lived out of a suitcase for half the year, so I discovered that I can live without a lot. But the things that I do have, I want to be quality and make my life better.
Having a really durable and easy to use suitcase made travel so much easier. Glasses that helped block blue light and reduced my headaches? Definitely changed my life. Having really cold water at the ready, made us spend less money and stay hydrated all day. You spend half of your life in bed, shouldn’t it be as comfortable as possible?
While not the sexiest list of things, these are on the more practical side, they made my 2017 much better. In the comments, I’d love to hear what made your year better.
Felix Gray Glasses – I spent a lot of time in front of my computer and would get headaches by the end of the day. A friend recommended that I give Felix Gray’s a try to reduce eyestrain and filter out the blue light. I bought a pair of Jemison’s in Whiskey Tortoise and recommend them to anyone that spends time behind a computer screen. My headaches are gone and my eyes feel so much better.
Grammarly – I write a lot. It can be a blog post, an article, email, or even notes to myself that I write in my note writing app. I’ve been using the free version of Grammarly for a really long time and finally splurged and got the paid version. It’s like spell/grammar check times a thousand. It has saved me so much time editing.
The Bigger Carry-On from Away – We’ve traveled a lot this year and this suitcase is the best. Wes and I both have them and they are a perfect size, really durable, and the wheels are not annoying at all. You know what I mean about annoying wheels, they are the worst in a busy airport. The best part is that these have a charging plug in them so you can charge your device on the go. Away Bags also have a lifetime warranty.
Packing Cubes – We lived out of our carry-ons for 4 months. It would NOT have been possible without packing cubes. You can fit so much more in your luggage with these gems. You can organize your clothes and pull out what you need as you need them. It makes packing and unpacking a piece of cake. We all have a set and all of us are packing cube converts.
Faux Leather Backpack – I swore that I would never carry an adult backpack. I needed something easier and more convenient to carry my stuff around this summer because I carried more than normal. I saw a recommendation for this backpack and the price was right. (Read – CHEAP.) I love it and get so many compliments on it. When I tell them that is was $35 on Amazon, no one ever believes me and then I see them carrying it a few weeks later. And now I’m getting another in black.
Mellanni Sheets – Another friend recommended that I had to try these sheets. You guys, these sheets are PRACTICALLY FREE. And I love them so much that I bought multiple sets after the first night I slept on them. I put them on my Instagram Stories and had so many people try them and come back to me to sing their praises. They are so soft and comfy.
Hydroflask Water Bottles – We go through a lot of water and it gets really expensive when you are out and about. Now everyone carries a water bottle (we all have a different color) and fills it up as we go. It’s better for the environment and there are water fountains all over the place. These keep the water really cold for ages, so much that I won’t put hot drinks in them because they never cool off enough to drink without burning my mouth.
Please tell me, what did you buy that made your 2017 better?
