Ingredients
  

The Batter:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cut into cubes
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp vegetable oil

The Frosting:

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter softened
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar sifted
  • 2-4 tbsp milk as needed

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy.

  • Melt the butter in the milk and add to the egg mixture along with the vanilla extract and oil.

  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.

  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.

  • Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
