Preheat oven to 350°. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
In a separate bowl whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Mix until just combined. Add chocolate chips and mix until incorporated.
Use a 2 tablespoon scoop and place dough two inches apart.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
