Use a sharp knife to cut the tops and tails off the green beans.
Pop the green beans in the bowl, and add in the olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Toss the beans, olive oil, salt, and pepper together until the beans are all coated.
Heat the grill to medium-high and once it is hot add the coated green beans. Grill for 4 – 5 minutes on each side or until they are charred on both sides.
Add the grilled beans to your serving dish, add the butter on top, and let it melt over the beans.
