Ingredients
  

  • 5 medium apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, maple syrup, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Let sit for 10 minutes.

  • In a separate bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and mix with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
