It’s no secret that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love everything about it. It’s in the fall, my favorite season. There isn’t the pressure that I feel at Christmastime. No presents to buy. It’s all about food, friends, and family. All things I can really get behind.
It is also my favorite meal to cook all year long. I am very traditional when it comes to my menu. I rarely change anything or make something different. Every other day of the year I am willing to experiment, but on Thanksgiving, not a chance. That being said, I would add these Pecan Pie Cookies to my dessert spread because they are THAT. GOOD. Seriously, I can’t get enough of these. I adapted my King Cake Cookie recipe to give it more of a pecan pie feel and the result is amazing. It has just a little lemon to break up some of the sweetness and the praline is the perfect topping for these cookies. I might make these and put them in pretty bags to give as favors for my Thanksgiving dinner. These would be the perfect accompaniment to a Thanksgiving sandwich.
