Brown Sugar Ice Cream

brown sugar ice cream recipe

I am sort of obsessed with my new ice cream maker. I love how easy it is to take a few simple ingredients and 30 minutes later it is ice cream. I am starting with simple flavors and making my way to the more complex. I made this ice cream to go along with my Cherry Buckle. I like how the brown sugar gives the ice cream a hint of caramel and just a bit of complexity. I have been asked a few times about the ice cream maker that I use and I wrote about it in my Cookies and Cream post.

I made this ice cream for Thanksgiving and it was a HUGE hit! It turned out beautifully, and everyone couldn't get over how delicious it was, myself included. I did tweak the recipe a little (I didn't have vanilla beans, so I just added a little more extract, I added a pinch of salt, and also a teaspoon of bourbon), but even if I wouldn't have done these things the ice cream still would have been amazing! Thank you for such a terrific recipe.
