Pecan Pie Bars

pecan pie bar recipe

I got home a few hours ago from the most fun, amazing, inspiring conference ever. I was honored to be a speaker at Mixed and seriously, I can’t wait for next year. I will write more about my experience later, I need to spend some QT with my little people, but it was the best weekend ever. I am so looking forward to what is to come and what new things are on the horizon for Baked Bree.

Today I am over at LoveFeastTable for their 3rd annual Cookie Exchange. I am sharing my recipe for Pecan Pie Bars. Such a delicious dessert, and easier to make than a pie.

Pasta primavera for my daughter, meatloaf for the boys:) Washington apple cake for dessert!

  3. HopefulLeigh

Grandma’s Coffee Cake recipe is one for the ages. Really, anything my Grandma made is my favorite, except for meatloaf. No one has been able to redeem that one for me.

  4. Donna

My mothers lasagna recipe! Cant get enough of it and we always serve it for family birthdays and celebrations!

  5. Jana

I adore the Pewter Crosshatch journal! I bought a very similar fabric just recently, and haven’t quite decided what to do with it yet.

I adore the Pewter Crosshatch journal! I bought a very similar fabric just recently and haven’t quite decided what to do with it yet.

  7. Kelli

Red Rose. Because I’m a very messy cook. It might hide the spaghetti sauce stains. Love the recipe journal!!

  8. Becca - Cookie Jar Treats

I don’t really have a favorite family recipe. My mom just sort of cooks whatever… but when she’s not around I tend to cook for my dad, sister, and me…. Usually my favorite recipes come from a crock pot and have this like sticky, thick, sweet bbq type sauce.

  9. Liz

I love making homemade chicken strips for the family. The kids think it’s really fun and they are SO much better for us!

  10. Kari M

These pie bars look fantastic! We have some great family bread recipes from my Great Grandfather who owned a bakery. The holidays always means lots of fresh bread.

  11. Katrina @ Warm Vanilla Sugar

Pecan pie bars are definitely a family fav in my house. Your recipe looks lovely!

  12. Liz

yum delish! I am too a lover of pecan pie, but I may go this route next time because my pie crusts are always epic fails! Time to add to the cookie rotation…

  13. Kellie S.

I think our favorite family recipe is yellow rice casserole. We all love it and it is much requested by both of my daughters.

  14. Jeanette M C

Those pecan bars look delish. I think for the cookbook cover I like the rose red.

  15. gina

Is this where we’re supposed to leave our comment about which cover we like? Either way, my favorite cover is pear!

  16. Katie @ Blonde Ambition

We make bars just like this every year, and use walnuts from our tree! Yours look delicious.

  17. Chung-Ah | Damn Delicious

It was so awesome seeing you in person last weekend, Bree! You rock! And these bars? Amazing! I definitely prefer these lovelies over pecan pie!

    1. bakedbree

You too! It is nice to put a face to a name!

  18. LisaCox

My Grandma Shirley’s chicken and pastry with her homemade corn bread! I really like the pewter cover for the LoveFeast recipe book, too!

    Hi Bree:

Your Pecan Pie Bars sounds delicious and Ii can’t wait to try them! My favorite cover for the new Cookbook Journal is RED. Red is always such a great accent color to have in a kitchen and what better way than to accent with a Red Cookbook Journal. Happy Baking.

  21. Yvonne

Can’t wait to try the Pecan Pie Bars! My favorite cover is red.

  22. Karen

  26. Cindi

One of my favorite recipes is Shrimp Ball, one of our Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve appetizers. So good! It was a hard choice between the Pewter and Pear covers, but I guess the Pewter is more universal. I’m going to have to try those bars for a Pecan Pie fan!

  27. Carrie Howard

My favorite cover is the pear. My favorite family recipe is my moms banana bread. My favorite piece is the end piece.

My favorite family recipe is probably my mom’s homemade bread! She doesn’t love to cook, but she’s mastered bread.

  31. gina toothe

i would like the cover to be Rose Red! My favorite family recipe, oh my they are more then one, but i would say my Mom’s homemade meatballs recipe is just so delish. She is disabled now and hasn’t been able to cook for some time. Boy we miss her cooking!

  32. Tammy

We don’t really have any family recipes from the past. If you asked my kids they would probably say mom’s spaghetti.

  33. Amy Murillo

Bree, I am so happy that we had the chance to meet over the weekend. You out shined all of the wonderful things I have already heard about you. As well your site is gorgeous. I am glad all these goodies are virtual or I would have already gained 10 pounds since Sunday.

Oh, I am thinking I should make these when I get back this weekend. Lenny loves pecan pie, and I never make it, as I have not found a recipe I like. I am sure he will love these bars, and it will be a lovely surprise!!

I agree with you on the conference – we had an amazing time, and loved the sense of community. Learned some new tips from everyone and excited to get home to start playing around!

    1. bakedbree

you are such a love, thank you for the sweet words. I had an amazing weekend, and one of the best parts was getting to know you and Lenny. I hope to see you again in the very near future.

  48. Kristin

my favorite family recipe is Aunt Julia Hotdish πŸ™‚

  49. Jillian

These look amazing! I love pecan pie and even more with the ease of a bar!

  51. Krystal

I’m drooling now! Those Pecan Pie Bars look soooooo yummy. Too bad my kids have nut allergies or I’d be whipping up a batch tonight. The journal is a great idea….I’m constantly writing down little tips and tidbits in random places then lose them. The Pewter Crosshatch has my vote!

  52. Ashley Bee (Quarter Life Crisis Cuisine)

Peacan pie has never really been a part of my family’s holiday gatherings, but I DO love pecan. Maybe I should make a new tradition…

    1. bakedbree

      Yes you should!

  53. Katie | The Hill Country Cook

Funny thing, I like bars like these better than the pie too. But…. it needs some CHOCOOOLAAATEEEE. Lol. I’m a fiend. I like to sprinkle in some chocolate chunks. πŸ™‚

I really enjoyed hearing you speak this past weekend! Can’t wait to hear about the trip from your perspective! Buying an IKEA island is top on my list, great to “roll the shot around” to get the perfect light!

    1. bakedbree

I do not like chocolate with my pecan pie, but you could dip these into chocolate….

  54. Stacey Elliott

HELP!! Where is the actual recipe?? Your site is new to me, but SOOO MANY things sound DEVINE and right up my alley! I was able to pull up several of your other recipes (which I will try!!), but this one comes up blank no matter what I do. Any suggestions? PLEASE!!

    1. bakedbree

Click on the links. It will send you there.

  55. Chineka (savorthebaking)

I love anything pecan pie. The fact that these are bite sized is a bonus. πŸ™‚

    1. bakedbree

      Me too!

  56. Jeanette

What can I use as a substitute for the corn syrup?

    1. bakedbree

Pecan pie is made with corn syrup, I don’t think that I would sub it out. Rice barley syrup I think you can sub with?
