I got home a few hours ago from the most fun, amazing, inspiring conference ever. I was honored to be a speaker at Mixed and seriously, I can’t wait for next year. I will write more about my experience later, I need to spend some QT with my little people, but it was the best weekend ever. I am so looking forward to what is to come and what new things are on the horizon for Baked Bree.

    I don’t really have a favorite family recipe. My mom just sort of cooks whatever… but when she’s not around I tend to cook for my dad, sister, and me…. Usually my favorite recipes come from a crock pot and have this like sticky, thick, sweet bbq type sauce.

    One of my favorite recipes is Shrimp Ball, one of our Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve appetizers. So good! It was a hard choice between the Pewter and Pear covers, but I guess the Pewter is more universal. I’m going to have to try those bars for a Pecan Pie fan!

    Oh, I am thinking I should make these when I get back this weekend. Lenny loves pecan pie, and I never make it, as I have not found a recipe I like. I am sure he will love these bars, and it will be a lovely surprise!!

    I agree with you on the conference – we had an amazing time, and loved the sense of community. Learned some new tips from everyone and excited to get home to start playing around!

    HELP!! Where is the actual recipe?? Your site is new to me, but SOOO MANY things sound DEVINE and right up my alley! I was able to pull up several of your other recipes (which I will try!!), but this one comes up blank no matter what I do. Any suggestions? PLEASE!!

    What can I use as a substitute for the corn syrup?

      Pecan pie is made with corn syrup, I don’t think that I would sub it out. Rice barley syrup I think you can sub with?
